Richardson In Driver’s Seat as she pursues Amateur & Senior Titles

Moving day at the 2018 NB Ladies Provincial Championships, saw just that, as the 2017 NB Ladies Amateur and Senior Champion, Leanne Richardson of Country Meadows secured her spot in the final pairing alongside Morgan Matchett of Miramichi and Chrissie Spidell of Anderson, South Carolina.

Richardson, the 17 time Royale NB Ladies Player of the year, is firmly in the driver’s seat after two rounds as she pursues her fifth NB Ladies Amateur and fourth NB Ladies Senior titles. After recording a second round 6-over par 77 consisting of 7 pars, 8 bogeys and 2 birdies, Leanne currently holds a one-shot lead over competitors Morgan Matchett and Chrissie Spidell who are both tied for 2nd at 11-over par entering the final round.

In the Super-Senior Division, the top of the leaderboard remains the same after round 2 from Miramichi Golf & Country Club. Kathy Grebenc of Gowan Brae continues to hold the lead at 13-over par after an 8-over par 79 during round 2. Trailing in second place is Brenda Parrott of Gowan Brae at 26-over par and rounding out the top three is Connie Bothwell of Fredericton Golf Club at 29-over par. While 2017 Champion, Kris Harvey of Fredericton Golf Club currently sits at 40-over par, tied for 12th with club mate Elin Maher.

The third round the 2018 Golf NB Ladies Provincials, will get under way at 8:00am on Tuesday July 10th off of both the 1st and 10th tees, with the leaders teeing off in the final pairing off of #1 at 10:20am.
