The Miramichi Golf & Country Club is the location of the Golf NB’s 2018 celebration of women’s golf, as 86 of the provinces top female golfers competing, for four different provincial titles, in the 84th playing of the NB Ladies Provincials.

By day’s end, it was Morgan Matchett of Miramichi Golf & Country Club and Chrissie Spidell of Anderson, South Carolina who are sharing the lead. The two both recorded a first round score of 3-over par, 74 on a hot and sunny Sunday.

Spidell is currently tied for the lead in the Amateur Division with Matchett but is also leading both the Mid-Amateur and Senior Divisions ahead of Country Meadow’s Leanne Richardson who is one stroke behind Spidell and Matchett. Spidell’s first round of this year’s event also comprised of 13 pars, 4 bogeys and 1 birdie.

Third place in all three divisions is currently held by 2017 NB Amateur, Mid-Amateur and Senior Ladies Champion Leanne Richardson of Country Meadows.
