Golf New Brunswick Welcomes Brian Doherty as New Executive Director

Golf New Brunswick is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Doherty as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective November 10, 2025.
Brian joins Golf NB following nine years with Golf Canada’s Golf Services Department, where he most recently served as Senior Manager of Golf Services. During his tenure, he played a key role in the creation and success of the National Golf League, as well as the implementation of Golf Canada’s new membership model. His leadership in both the membership transition and the Incident Protection Program contributed to the national membership’s impressive growth—expanding by more than 100,000 golfers since his arrival.

Originally from Oakville, Ontario, Brian has strong roots in New Brunswick and is thrilled to return to the province and reconnect with the East Coast golf community. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) and brings with him a deep passion for growing the game and supporting member clubs.

“We are very pleased to announce that Brian Doherty has accepted the position of Executive Director of Golf NB,” said Andrea Garland, President of Golf New Brunswick. “He hails from Oakville but has roots in New Brunswick. He has come from Golf Canada, being involved with the NGL, and brings wonderful expertise to keep our association moving forward.”

As Executive Director, Brian will oversee Golf NB’s strategic operations, partnerships, and programs across the province. He looks forward to meeting members, visiting clubs, and continuing to grow the game of golf throughout New Brunswick.

“I’m honoured to join Golf New Brunswick and return to a place that feels like home,” said Doherty. “Golf in this province has an incredible community and momentum, and I’m excited to build on that alongside our staff, volunteers, and members.”
