2025 Men’s Amateur Championship – Championnat amateur masculin 2025

[Hartland, NB] – Golf New Brunswick hosted the highly anticipated 2025 Men’s Amateur Provincial Championship, presented by Cobra Golf, on June 27-29 at Covered Bridge Golf & Country Club, where the province’s top amateur golfers competed for provincial glory. With the course in pristine condition and ideal weather on hand, the event lived up to its billing as a showcase of elite amateur talent.

After three rounds of competitive play, four golfers sat tied atop the leaderboard at -2 (214), forcing a sudden-death playoff to determine the champion. In the end, Nick Ritchie of Hampton Golf Course emerged victorious after four extra holes, claiming the prestigious title of Golf NB Men’s Amateur Champion.

With the win, Ritchie not only earns provincial honors but also secures a coveted exemption into the 2026 PGA Tour Americas event, marking a major milestone in his competitive golf journey. Congratulations Nick!

Joining Ritchie on the 2025 NB Men’s Amateur Team are Liam Llewellyn and Carter Lavigne, who also had impressive rounds throughout the tournament and earned their spots based on performance. This trio will go on to represent New Brunswick at the Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship later this year. Congratulations to these three young golfers! We are confident they will represent our province well.

Nick’s father, Darren Ritchie, is no stranger to the winner’s circle. A two-time NB Men’s Amateur Champion and the 1992 Canadian Men’s Amateur Champion, Darren made history as the first Maritimer to capture the national title. But on this day, the moment wasn’t about trophies. This photo was taken just before father and son shared a heartfelt embrace that brought the crowd to tears. Some victories go far beyond the scorecard, this was one of them.
