HONORARY CAPTAINS / PLAYING CAPTAINS:
The honorary captains will be selected yearly by the executive committee and will be two (2) individuals who finished in the top 15 of the previous year’s player of the year standing, in their respective division(s).
Honorary Captains for the 2021 Estabrooks Cup are as follows;
NUMBER OF PLAYERS:
Including Honorary Captains, each team will consist of 18 players (2 Amateur Men, 8 Senior Men & 8 Ladies).
GEOGRAPHICAL DIVISION OF CLUBS:
The North/South geographical division is used. The dividing line will approximately run south of the Bouctouche Club, south of the Fredericton area clubs (excluding Oromocto, which would be in the south) through to the western boundary with St. Croix, Algonquin,and Herring Cove being in the southern region.
METHOD OF SELECTING PLAYERS:
Excluding the Honorary Captains, positions will be filled based on the final player of the year standings in the NB Men’s, MCT Insurance NB Senior Men’s and Royale NB Ladies Player of the Year Challenges. In the event that one of the top players is not able to play in the competition, his/her position will be offered to the next person on the final player of the year standings and so on until the 18 players are selected. All players (juniors, seniors) are eligible for selection; the only criteria being player of the year standings.
*Note: Should it prove difficult to finalize either, or both teams, Golf NB reserves the right to expand its search parameters and selection criteria in an effort to fill any remaining positions. Search parameters and selection criteria may be expanded to include players, or individuals, who have demonstrated the requisite golfing ability along with past support of Golf NB / Golf Canada and / or their home club(s).
